Question:

what is the largest door thickness this will fit over?

Answer:

Mine is an inch and a half and I feel like it has more space. Only flaw is the rack itself isn't heavy so it moves on my casings a lot

3/4 inch. I got it to hang over the cabinet door under the sink but it did not fit over the door entirely. I forced the hooks to open up a little bit more and it worked.

Question:

Does this towel bar have padding in the inside of the hooks? what is the depth of the hooks?

Answer:

About 4/5 of an inch. Fits perfectly over our cabinet door by the kitchen sink. There is some foam padding on the long side of the hooks. No scratches have been noticed on my painted cabinets. We have been happy with this purchase.

It does not have padding and it move around. I added my own padding to it and now it works fine. It is about 1 inch in depth.
