Downtown Rochester Halloween Fest – Saturday October 16

Things to do in Metro Detroit This Weekend 10/15, 10/16, 10/17

It’s going to be a spooktacular Saturday in downtown Rochester with trick-or-treating at participating retailers, a costume parade and Halloween Fest! After kids get their bags filled with candy and show off their costumes in the parade, Halloween Fest will be held at the corner of E. Third and Water Street. Enjoy a visit from Ecto 1 and the Metro Detroit Ghostbusters, games, Big Don’s Balloons, the Little Donut Factory and free pumpkins from The Linda Rea Team “pumpkin patch”.

5:15 pm – Costume Parade on the way to the Fire Department
5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Halloween Fest at the corner of E. Third and Water St.

Bowers Farm Bourbon & Brews – Saturday, October 16

Things to do in Metro Detroit This Weekend: 10/15, 10/16, 10/17

6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Bourbon & Brews allows you to enjoy a fall evening sampling 200+ varieties of bourbon, whiskey, craft beer, wine and fall cocktails at Bowers Farm in Bloomfield Hills, a 97 acre farm with rolling hills, woods, and historic barns. There will be bonfires, food trucks and live entertainment, plus proceeds help support upkeep and programming at the farm. General admission tickets are $50 and include 10 drink samples, commemorative pint glass and photo. VIP tickets are $65 and include early entry plus 15 drink samples, VIP wagon ride and “Back 40” tour.  This event is rain or shine, held under a tented pavilion.

Profs & Pints: Festivals of the Beyond – Sunday October 17

6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

“Festivals of the Beyond,” a look at the roots of Halloween and other celebrations of the dead, with Hans Hummer, professor of history at Wayne State University and award-winning teacher of courses on world history and Medieval Europe. Profs & Pints is a series of informal lectures by college professors held at local brew pubs. Tickets purchased in advance are $12. Tickets at the door are $15 (or $13 with student ID).
