Thread: Board Game Art and Graphic Design:: L’arrivée du Tour & Chronicles of the Num Oluur

by GildasOnOtherBoards

Hello fellow Board Game Geeks!

I have been trying to develop board games for some time, and have recently put online my first 2 projects. You can check them out here: https://onotherboards.com/

Quick comments:
- All feedback is more than welcome,
- Yes, I know, I can’t draw properly…

Which is actually the reason I’m posting here & now!
I’d love these projects to look a lot better than they do right now, so it would be great to find an illustrator/graphic designer willing to put some effort.

No idea if this is the right place to do so, but still worth a try, right!

Another couple of quick comments:
- I really want the games to be available for free in a “print & play” format, so there is no publishing or Kickstarter coming up.

- I am willing to compensate for the work done in a fair way, though my budget is limited and I don’t plan any commercial outcomes at this point (happy to sign a contract if helpful). This is a hobby I have been busy with, so I am far from being a pro at this

So here are the outlines of the 2 projects (I took the item list from a very useful post in the BGG forum):

1. “L’arrivée du Tour”
Cycling race game where each player manages a team of three cyclists
Collaboration or Compensation:
compensation (happy to collaborate in the future)
Budget:
to be discussed but limited
What are the terms:
I am looking for a version of the game that can be easily printed and played at home. I will build a webpage specifically dedicated to this version of the game on my website and share on social media
Number of pieces:
- Team card template
- Pace wheel design
- Cyclist pawns
- Racing boards
Size of art:
Possible print and play
Art style desired:
My idea around this game is 80’s cycling, so lots of color & slightly kitsch. Would like something dynamic and rather light
Deadline:
None really

2. “Chronicles of the Num Oluur I: Storm of the Gods”,
An entry-level strategy game in which players are Gods attempting to capture a primal force, the Vaal Er Num, or build the strongest following.
The game is meant to be the first of a trilogy.
Collaboration or Compensation:
compensation (happy to collaborate in the future)
Budget:
to be discussed but limited
What are the terms:
I am looking for a version of the game that can be easily printed and played at home. I will build a webpage specifically dedicated to this version of the game on my website and share on social media
Number of pieces:
- 1 board
- Pawns for each player: 30 followers, 1 type of construction & 1 sanctuary
- 1 Vaal Er Num pawn
Size of art:
Possible print and play
Art style desired:
I am looking for an abstract type of design: no characters or human/animal-like figures. My idea is based on colors and symbols mostly, with some constructions. The main aspect of all elements should be pretty rough
Deadline:
None really

Happy to connect with anyone interested!

Best,

Gildas
