Freedom Auctions holds another of its famous circus-themed auctions on August 6 in Sarasota, FL. We love lot #57, a 1901 Annie Oakley lithograph. This very rare one-sheet litho is titled The Peerless Wing and Rifle Shot. The Enquirer Printing Company of Cincinnati printed it. It features a stunning central portrait of Annie Oakley decorated with awards and is surrounded by scenes of various performances, including a telegraph from Oakley to Union Metalic Cartridge Company. While performing with The Buffalo Bill Show, she was involved in a train derailment in October of 1901. Injuries forced her from the show the following year. Oakley’s husband, Frank E.
